De minister van VWS heeft negen beroepsgroepen aangewezen. Zij kunnen er bijvoorbeeld voor kiezen om bepaalde beroepen uit te sluiten voor het hoofdbehandelaarschap van de generalistische basis GGZ en gespecialiseerde GGZ.&nbsp;</span>
Deze doelstelling is gericht op: Doelmatigheid.

*Indien dementie de hoofddiagnose is: de specialist ouderengeneeskunde of klinisch geriater
*Indien de hoofddiagnose verslaving en/of gokproblematiek betreft: de verslavingsarts
 
Binnen de generalistische basis-ggz is altijd een psychiater of klinisch psycholoog beschikbaar voor advies of consultatie.
